Hello! I feel like I am missing friends from Crane as well as SAI sisters in my class here on LJ...... can anyone help me reconnect?! I don't even know who to look for. So if you have an idea of someone who you know I'm friends with, can you let me know and I'll find them and become LJ friends! Thanks! :) |

2009 - not that I was the best at updating... :)
January - happy 2009.. fine vacation but now it's stress time! woohoo, lol
February - alksdjfklasdjlkfjsdakljfksajdklfjlkasjldjfl
update later on why
March - audition over - waiting for results
April - I'm glad that as I can stress out about hosting NYSSMA and making sure everything is set in place, everyone says it's running smoothly
May - We went to Bomber's last night, but because it wasn't EXACTLY my birthday, they said we could pay for one instead of the free one on your birthday, but John paid for it and it was AWESOME! woohoo! ("it" being the GIGANTIC margarita they are famous for)
June - *sigh*
July - sooo we have to drive back to albany, lol.
August - almost done almost done almost done almost done almost done almost done!
September - why is my first reaction anger?
October - 10 students!
November - hahah i just spent way too much time on seethroughny.com
December - I'm definitely going to have trouble sleeping tonight without John here :(:(:( He's at NYSSMA
Wow, I can't even believe how much as happened in 2009. Soooo, back in January last year I was still at Bethlehem Central High School and the concerts up there are in January. Hence the stress, lol. Then comes February with auditioning for Ithaca and getting all the materials in on time since we had only decided to GO to Ithaca in Janurary, lmao. oy. Well, that's just how John and I do it, apparently! March was crazy because I was playing with the Capital Region Wind Ensemble but our concert was the same day as my sister's Hour Performance Recital! The band thing about that was this was the first concert that CRWE asked me to play as a permanent member :( I was in a pickle but Heather was mature enough to realize that I had a real job and a real opportunity to play in an ensemble (since leaving Crane, there's nothing... ) and was ok that I didn't come to her recital. John went though! So sweet. :) April, Bethlehem hosted NYSSMA Solo/Ensemble. I did not - however I felt like I was when I was there and making all the problems go away for the guy who "was hosting." May was my birthday! :) June we decided to buy a house! And within a weekend of physically looking at houses, we saw the one we bought on Sunday, made an offer THAT day, and then Monday we were signing because we negotiated back and forth 1.5 times! haha. Granted, we thought about buying a house 2 weeks earlier in reality and then we were in the process of doing so. :) July and August - we went to Ithaca for 6 stressful weeks to complete our Mus Ed Masters (with 2 more summers to go.... UGH) and as we got home on Saturday the 8th, we packed, signed for the house on Tuesday the 11th and moved in completely by Thursday the 13th (as in completely OUT of the other place- byebye, lol). September started a new year in a new school, the Middle School, which is the school that I was originally hired for. I was just a "newbie" so they wanted to make sure I knew the waters first before drowning. Which is good because I felt SO ready for this job and I'm definitely settling into the job I will have for the next 31 years. :) October, officially had 10 students in my studio (and still do!). 2 are at the house, the other 8 are at their houses. I'm slowly starting to transition. November - we hosted Thanksgiving! December is concert season at the Middle School. I had already done like 10 concerts at the HS but this felt brand-new-first-concert-ever-since-graduating. Way nervous! But, after many compliments and feeling proud of the students, it was definitely successful. Now on to the next concert cycle! Oh yeah, and I get 2-25 minute rehearsals with each the 7th grade and 8th grade bands each week. AWESOME! :-P oy. :)
I feel so blessed in my life. I have a wonderful husband who I can't stand to be without because he is my other half. I am an independent woman, but at the same time I am also vulnerable and in need of him, and our relationship gives me both. We have each changed so much in the last 3 years together (oh yea! in February we'll have officially been together for 3 years! 1.5 of those years were married, and .5 was engaged! hehe :) ) but we have changed together and we have grown together and all that we ask for and know will happen is that we keep going down this path together. We are going to a great school to get our masters. We both have wonderful jobs that we love and are on our way to getting tenure in. We both have good-working, nice cars. We have two adorable kitties! and we bought a house this year....!!!!!!! What more could we ask for?
Off to 2010 :-D
p.s. oh yeah! and i've lost 16 lbs and on my way towards more gone! |
